SuperSmoke feature is great for really infusing the smoke flavor into your meal you are cooking. This will really elevate the grilling experience on your Traeger Ironwood 650.

What we are not wild about with the Traeger TFB65BLF:
The max temperature topping out at 500ºF does make it hard to sear steaks or to get grill lines as you are used to seeing. The use of the Traeger cast iron skillet does help.
While the Ironwood 650 does get to temperature more quickly with the D2® Direct Drive and double wall installation it is still not as quick as your gas grills.
There is a lot of maintenance with wood pellet grills and we recommend vacuuming out your fire pot at least once a month, and more if you are using it once a week.
The Traeger TFB65BLF, also known as the Ironwood 650, is a wood fire grill that uses hardwood pellets to create its heat for cooking. Through its unique design you can not only use this to smoke, but you can also grill, bake and roast with this model. Dual insulated walls and back draft exhaust allow for better temperature control even if it is cold or windy when you are using this grill. This creates the ability to use the Super Smoke mode where the smoke is circulated via a fan to deliver a smokier flavor to your meal. That same fan can be used with TurboTemp® in order to achieve the temperature you need faster. Max temperature is 500ºF for the Ironwood 650. The D2® Controller and D2® Direct Drive deliver a steady flow of pellets to maintain accurate temperatures throughout the cooking process. This variable speed auger will even be able to unjam itself by moving in reverse is the need arises. Using the WiFIRE® Technology you can watch your temperatures internally with the provided meat probe, check your pellet levels, and watch the temperature of the grill itself. The locking casters will ensure that your grill will not roll away or get bumped out of whack. The main cooking space is 22" wide by 19" deep and the second level cooking space is 22" wide and 10.5" deep for a total of 650 sq in of cooking area. The hopper will hold 20lbs of pellets at one time and can be emptied if you choose to change the wood that you are using.
