Pet Plus Cycle on Your Speed Queen Dryer
One of the biggest trends we are seeing in the appliance world is laundry addressing pet hair on clothing. As a pet owner you may notice that your dog or cat leaves little reminders across your leg or on your favorite blanket of just how much they love you. What is a pet owner to do? Speed Queen is addressing this issue with its first ever Pet Plus™ Cycles on the DR7 dryers.
The pet hair remover cycle on the DR7 dryers from Speed Queen is made to remove pet hair from dry items. This 10-minute cycle can be used on its own to remove pet hair before you run out the door or it can be used before putting your clothing in the washer. This cycle makes use of the steam settings to create an anti-static environment in the dryer to help pull the hair from the clothing and into the lint filter. It is recommended that you clean that filter immediately after to ensure that the hair does not infiltrate into other parts of the dryer.
There is even a “Pet Items” cycle that dries and refreshes bulky pet items. It is about a 55-minute cycle that uses high-temperature heat cycle in cooperation with the anti-static and steam boost on. Those settings can be adjusted if you would like to modify them. If you find a setting you like you can save it by using the “Favorites” option to quickly use it again.
At Bill & Rod’s Appliance we recommend that you not only clean out the lint filter but that you do a quick wipe down of the dry drum as well after using these cycles. Often pet items can leave staining or odors on the interior that can transfer to the next load that comes through. Also, by all means, do not put your pets through the cycle! These cycles are meant exclusively for fabrics and bedding… some one had to say it!
