Close Up in the Traeger Flatrock Griddle Style Grill
Traeger has finally entered the griddle style grill market and Bill & Rod’s Appliance has them on display at both locations. Are they late to the party on this? We certainly do not think so! In fact we think that they probably changed the game for the griddle style grills. Check out our one take video for a close up and read below our thoughts on this.
The first thing we have got to call out is that it is NOT a pellet grill nor is it the woodfired platform that you are used to with Traeger. This is a gas heated grill that uses 3 u-shaped burners under that are each in their individual zones that are heatshield insulated for ultimate control on this griddle, not something that you will find with any of the competitors. These burners are under a heavy duty 594 sq.in. carbon steel griddle that will not warp on you as long as you maintain the work surface. When we say heavy, we really mean heavy… it weighs a lot!
The propane hooks up underneath the grill to the right of the ash and grease keg. There is a hook that the tank will hang on, with an arm that keeps it from swinging about. There is also a sensor that will show you how much fuel you have left on an LED gage. Simple electronic ignition, with their own flame sensors keep your heat going. With their FlameLock™ Construction more heat is retained, resulting in consistent cooking and 28% less propane use than standard griddles.
