Asko Dishwasher Wash Programs

The program selections are able to provide something for every style of cleaning that you may need or want. Let’s take a look at the 11 programs on the Asko dishwasher to choose from:
- Normal Wash: This would be for everyday use for a completely full load of dishes, cups and glasses that have regular soiling on them and have not been rinsed or prewashed.
- ECO Wash: For the most efficient use of the Asko dishwasher this would be the most effective in terms of combined energy and water consumption.
- Sanitation Wash: This cycle was designed for daily use on the dishes that may have been left out dirty and have dried leftovers. Operating at a higher temperature, 140F in the main wash and 150F in both rinses, will also cut way back on bacteria on the dishes.
- Time Program: The program will adapt to a specific run and finish time. This allows for total control of the washing time, but the time you choose must fit the soil level of the dishes if you choose this option. For example: 15-45 minutes for lightly soiled dishes / 1-1.5 hours for normally soiled dishes / 2-2.5 hours for heavily soiled dishes. To set this time it does require holding the button with the clock symbol above it.
- Rinse and Hold: This acts as prewash option to rinse dishes that are in there while you wait for a full load. Especially nice if you only run your dishwasher a couple times a week to prevent mold or mildew from developing in the dishwasher.
- Plastic Wash: If you are doing a load of picnic dishes or food storage containers that are plastic this is your cycle. By automatically adding an extra long dry time we are able have plastic that does not come out overly wet. It is also safe for porcelain or glass items.
- Hygiene Wash: This program on the Asko is recommended for baby bottles and cutting boards when additional sanitation is required. The main and final rinse are at an increased temperature of 160F. Also, a great choice with illness in the home!
- Crystal Glass: This gentle cycle uses a lower temperature for washing your fragile crystal or glass items. It is necessary to also you a very small amount of detergent with this, 20ml at most, far less than what will come in a tablet or pod. When loading also ensure that items do not touch together to cause water to catch to create marks.
- Self-Cleaning: This is a cycle specific for sanitizing the Asko dishwasher tub, spray arms, and spray pipes. The cycle should not have any dishes loaded during this time. You will want to add detergent or citric acid to aid in the cleaning. It is also safe to use other commercial cleaners to remove limescale deposits.
- Upper Half: You can use this program if you only have cups and glasses that need washing on the top rack. You could place lightly soiled dishes on the lower rack, but they will not get a full cleaning.
- Lower Half: You guessed it, the lower half on the Asko is for the lower rack. Made for plates and cutlery with normal soil to be washed in the lower rack. Again, you can have lightly soiled glasses on the top rack but will not get a full cleaning.
