How to Change the Water Filter on the Café Refrigerator CFE28TP4MW2
Café Appliances have become very popular here at Bill & Rod’s Appliance, Inc. and among them are the matte white finish French door refrigerators. On the CFE28TP4MW2, as well as the matte black and stainless models, they come equipped with a water filter for minerals, heavy metals, and pharmaceuticals in the water supply. Below are steps and pictures to show how to remove and replace the water filter.
1. Open the filter compartment in the upper left-hand interior of the fresh food section.

2. Rotate the filter out toward you.

3. Give a ¼ twist of the filter and gently pull back. It will feel stuck and that you have not twisted enough, but do not be too aggressive.
4. Discard old filter.
Ensure the sticker shows "Front" when you go to replace with new filter
5. Insert new filter giving a quarter twist. Note that there is a sticker on the front to show which side should be facing forward.

6. Close cover of the filter compartment.
7. You will now have to prime the water in the filter. Do this by holding a glass or pitcher against the water dispenser pad and allow water to run through. This could take a few minutes in the process.
8. Discard any water used during the priming process. Failure to prime will result in carbon deposits in your water and ice. Not harmful, just kinda yucky to look at.
9. Reset the filter replacement indicator on the touchpad on the dispenser
